My sisters kids were using her PC then "all of a sudden it goes computer shutting down to protect....... then it gets a bit vague. They press the on button nothing happen so they phone me PC is with me now.
Symptoms. No video signal, drives all spin up power supply seems ok all fans seem ok. No system bleeps
So far I have:
Reseated the ram swaped them to different slots (2x1gig) tried either in either slot
Tried differnt monitors and cables
Clear the CMOs using the jumper
Tried without any drives just to get a signal
Tried another video card in. The PC has on board video
As far as the system spec i dont know much because it is a acer with no name MOBO and but it is a intel dual core system on board sound basic thing. i cant run cpuz for obvious reasons OS is XPpro
Other than a motherboard fault i cant think what the problem is
