No iPhone 5S Pre-Order

Anyone know when the carriers will be putting up pre-orders for the 5S on contract? Waiting to see the prices for the 5S before i make a decision on whether to replace my 3GS with that or a Z1.

I'm sorry but the prices are ridiculous for the 5C and the 5S. Apple have even forced EE to apparently remove any potential discount offerings on Line Rental etc, so despite being a current customer available for upgrade, you get no loyalty offers at all.

This is nothing new.

This was the same last year. Orange offered me 1 extra Magic Number as an upgrade incentive, even though I have been with them for 7+ years, and already have 5 magic numbers, only 2 of which I use (also other networks offer free calls within the network as standard!).

EE/Orange are the worst network provider I've had the misfortune of using. When my 24 months are up next year I am definitely moving. Probably to O2.

Orange EE are indeed pants. Their network is not great, their 3g is pants where I am and their customer service is a complete farce.

I have the exact opposite experience with them. Great signal everywhere I travel, rarely lose 3G and its consistently fast.

Gotta agree on the customer service though I can't say any of the providers I have been with have been outstanding in that department

I rarely have issues with signal, however their customer service is some of the worst around.

Last year when I upgraded to iPhone 5 on Orange, I did it online in October. Then the next day I read that people who had pre-ordered the phone still hadn't received it from Orange (this was weeks after release). I did not receive a confirmation email, yet orange instantly took the £200~ out of my account for the phone. Then the next day I rang up and cancelled my upgrade, which they said would be done in a matter of hours - It was not, and I continued to receive automated texts about my upgrade..

2 months later, my contract had finished, and I finally received my £200~ back, but only after I had rang them 20+ times, had them deny that they even took the money, flat out lie to me about all of it, and then finally they asked me to fax (lol?) a copy of my bank statement to them. So I did that (using some online pdf-fax sender which I had to pay £1 for and didn't think would work) and then 2 days later £200~ mysteriously appeared back in my account.

In the end, I had bought a new contract (on Orange - epic fail on my part) from Carphone Warehouse. When I rung up Orange to talk about moving my number across, I got asked where I had purchased the iPhone. I told them it was at CW, and the woman started ranting at me about how 4G wouldn't work because I didn't get it direct from Orange blah blah.. even though it was on their bloody network!

Oh and after I had finally sorted this, I still knew of people who hadn't received their pre-ordered iPhone 5 3 months after release.

Orange are awful, and offer no incentives over other networks apart from 4G, which has bad coverage in my area and is horrendously overpriced!

I called Orange this morning because I currently have a 25% loyalty discount, they said if I was to upgrade to the 5C or 5S that discount would carry over. (That is if I wanted to stay on Orange)

It still states on the EE page that your existing Loyalty discounts will be transferred over if you are joining from orange or T-Mobile. I tried to to see if there was a restriction on certain handsets but could not find anything.

Here

UPGRADE VIA YOUR ORANGE ACCOUNT, AND KEEP YOUR NUMBER AND LOYALTY DISCOUNTS

It's simple to upgrade. All you need to do is log into your Orange account and follow the links through to the EE website, where you'll be able to place your order with us. We'll take care of everything from there, including cancelling your current contract and replacing it with a new EE one. You can keep your old number if you upgrade to EE.

You'll need to remember to back up your contacts and other important stuff from your current SIM card, because you get a new 4G SIM when you upgrade.
You'll keep any Orange loyalty discounts you currently have if you move to EE.

Well I'm only half way through my 24 months so this is kind of irrelevant :( I would buy the 5S outright, swap sim over and then sell my 5.

My 4S contract runs out in Nov with Orange so I'm going to check out what they will offer on an upgrade to EE on the 5s. I'm liking the option of upgrade during contract so when the 6 comes out I can upgrade instead of waiting a year.

Hopefully getting the wifes friend to put one aside for me at the Three store. Failing that I'll be over to EE and signing up a new contract there. I've had a half functional 4S for the last 20 months, cannot wait to get rid of it.
