no MAC code

Ive just moved house and am getting O2 set up, but there was SKY broadband still on the line and I cant get a MAC code, anyone know how much this will delay things by?
 
i think you'll have to get BT to clear the line, which i believe took me 2 weeks when i moved into my new property. However that was 2 years ago
 
thanks, yeh, ive spoken to O2, who said theres not much they can doo, talked to sky who were less than useless, so i'm on hold to BT at the moment.....:(
 
Yeah then thats what will have to happen, i had some really crappy thing on my line blocking adsl going in. Was a pain to have to wait for the line to clear up :S
 
Finally got off the phone, BT told me to ring O2 back and get them to call BTwholesale to have the line cleared....this wil take some time...so I rang my landlady and explained the situation....she is getting grief from sky as they have messed up the transfer of her services from this house to her new house so she is going to call them tomorrow anyway....and hopefully get a MAC.

What a carry on, I'm not even a sky customer and I hate them already :o

O2 on the otherhand have been brilliant, although they cant do that much at the moment, the support guy said he would personally ring me back with any changes of status on my line when they happen.

on the plus side, I should be able to plug a router in and leach a bit of sky BB untill this mess is sorted, as the service is still active.

That said, my mate lives across the road and im currently hooked up to his wi-fi so im not sure its even worth the effort.

oh well, on the plus side, my wireless connection to my mate has a 5meg downstream, he is on Bethere....so its perfectly good for now. his wired connection sees 14meg though, the sod!
