Hey all, firstly, specs:

Asus z710-k, i5-6600k, 16GB Team Group Elite RAM (2x 8gb) & MSI1060 6gb. The machines about 18 months old, up until today, no issues.

So, it's..dead? I'm not sure what though. The monitors aren't getting any signal (tested with another machine, both working fine). Have tried Display port, DVI & HDMI on the GPU, and HDMI, VGA & DVI on the motherboard. Both the same result.

Have tried the following:
Unseating RAM and reseating, reseating RAM in different slots, reseating each RAM stick by itself, in all four slots, on both sticks.

Taking the GPU out entirely. Resetting CMOS.

Taking the hardware out the case entirely and just building on an anti-static mat. And finally, tried a different PSU.

Now, I have no clue what it is here that's dead. My thinking is motherboard. My keyboard and mouse occasionally get power, and when they do I'm able to restart the machine with CTRL + ALT + DEL, but still no monitor output, and on other occasions the keyboard and mouse get no power to them full stop.

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers
Chris

Unfortunately don't have a multimeter on hand. I've ordered another motherboard, it'll be arriving today. I need to look into the warranty on my current one, and if it is that and is in warranty then I'll look into getting it sorted. Fingers crossed its only that, I don't fancy forking out for DDR4 at the current prices

Did you try that without separate graphics card and with BIOS reseted?

And is SB_PWR led on motherboard showing anything?
(it's next to SATA connectors)
If it isn't lightning up you have likely failed PSU.

Yep, tried with GPU installed and without GPU installed. I can't recall off the top of my head if SB_PWR is showing anything, but he motherboard does have a small green light which lights up, and along the side a long yellow light which lights up, so the motherboard definitely gets power. Also tried with a different PSU and no change.

Got new motherboard installed and now back up and running, RAM & CPU are both completely fine, and if anything, the PC is running better as a whole.

Time to RMA the old board. Cheers guys :)
