It's one thing for Microsoft to stop supporting an OS as they want to us to buy / use a newer one but why on earth would a hard ware manufacturer stop releasing drivers?

How is someone like me now meant to install a graphics driver? Compatibility mode on a Win10 driver?

You've kind of answered your own question - Win7 exited extended support over 18 months ago, so it's logical that hardware vendors cease updating drivers. The OS isn't getting updated so there shouldn't be any new issues introduced that would require a driver update, you can just keep using the old driver.

It's far worse IMO that AMD have stopped releasing drivers for their own products - removing Win7 support from the latest drivers makes sense to me, removing support for older graphics cards less so.

How can you expect the industry to move forward if you need to keep wasting time releasing for old hardware? Its like saying why dont Sony still keep releasing PS3 games just like the PS3 the support for PS4 will stop. Just like AMD and Nvidia support for old GPUs and operating systems will stop.

it's just the way the cookie crumbles

14 years of releases beats what AMD aren't offering, shame on them :(

14 years is the the life cycle of the console its ended just like Windows 7 is ended.
Why would Amd or nvidia support an OS that is no longer supported by Microsoft? It's a dead OS with no security fixes.

Why do you keep saying shame on Amd?

NVIDIA will end support for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 in October 2021. The company outlines the change in a post that explains why the company will focus on Windows 10 going forward. After October, NVIDIA drivers will exclusively be available on Windows 10, and presumably Windows 11 if it's announced this month.14 Jun 2021

What PS3 games were released last year? Not exactly first party awesomeness.
For gaming, it's time to get off of windows 7... Hardly unreasonable not to be developing drivers for it. No one is buying brand new AMD hardware, and running it there. For existing hardware users who refuse to upgrade, use the drivers that you always have.

If you think for one minute it's just Amd that is closed all support for windows 7 you completely wrong All Software has ended support for that OS

Users need to get with the times and move on its a rubbish OS plagued with loop holes and virus.

Perhaps next time don't be so quick to jump into AMD defence force mode and pick a better example :p

The game of the generation...
Windows 7 is a dead OS. No one has any obligation to release driver updates for it.
If you're using it still, that's on you.

Edit: Also, Sony were close to killing off their stores for older platforms this year, until massive backlash.
A third party releasing a tiny game, seems pretty irrelevant.

Defence mode? Not at all I am just stating facts it's not just Amd stopping support.

Why is it that when you provide facts you get labelled on here?

Fact is no matter how you want to swing this Windows 7 OS is dead to the industry.

Probably when you post rubbish like this.

I mean yes, it is time to move on, but ending support doesn’t make Windows 7 “rubbish” overnight. In fact, if it was supported it’d be a better OS than Windows 10, given it’s not rammed with malware.

Install windows 10 if you want to keep playing the latest games with working drivers, else stick to existing games.
