Who needs a dirty diesel? ;)

Sadly it dropped to 29mpg by the end of the day, mainly because I had to keep driving round in Woodstock to find a parking space :(

Anyone can get good mpg if they drive like a grandad at 55mph on a flat road with cruise control on.

24-26mpg average in a mixture of town/A/B/motorway would be more accurate.

I can get 99mpg with the car in neutral coasting downhill!

Nope, it was MPG.

Cruise control was set to an indicated 75mph which was a GPS verified 70mph. Acheived between the A38 just out of Exeter and the A1M near York - all Motorway/dual carriageway with the odd bit of traffic. At the time though the car was on Dunlop SP Sport 2000E tyres. These are rubbish with little grip but very low rolling resistance which undoubtedly helped. Eagle F1's knocked the long distance MPG figure down to 37ish.

Edit: It now lives in town where it covers perhaps 70-80 miles a week max - 22mpg :(

was it arranged to have a sig like fox? ;)

surely thats got to be some very conserved driving to be getting that?

121 miles covered, 597 to go!

Unfortuantely BMWs 'estimate' of your fuel level is horribly wrong.

You'll never see 700 miles to an E46 tank. Best I've seen from an M47 is 650 with it stuttering into the fuel station from a sedate 60mph non stop motorway trip.
