Tried to get into one of the office PCs today via Logmein and was suprised to see it offline,

So I RDPed into another machine on the same local network , and I can RDP into said machine from there - however it doesn't seem to have an internet connection  I've tried rebooting and that didn't seem to make a difference

Just on a simple network going through a router, no changes have been made and other machines are online .

Any ideas how I can diagnose/resolve this, preferably without having to go into the office :p

This PC has XP pro on it, was working fine on Friday

What was the problem. Mine does this every time i boot up. Local connection only. Does my head in. I have to disable and then enable the network connection in device manager to get it to fully connect (local and internet). Since puting on windows 7 too.

Interesting thread here.

I use logmein to get to my PC at home from work. Using W7 on both machines. Since around 1 week ago Logmein seems very tempremental. I can see my PC online in my account area, but when I connect it tells me it's "waiting for computername" then times out.

It's not a problem with the work firewall as I have tested it by allowing all traffic in/out from my IP for a short period. It seems very much an issue with my home PC.

I know my PC was on this morning and logmein was enabled. Knowing about this problem I even went to the login page from my home PC and it worked fine...

Oh, and its temperamental too! Yesterday it worked fine, today it's not working at all.

I think I'm going to uninstall the software tonight and re-install it as I'm nearly 100% confident the problem is at my end!

That PC was set to static IP instead of DHCP , the local DNS server that was pointing to was turned off, so net wouldn't work, hence why I could only RDP in using IP from another local machine :)
