No one uses Fermi for Gaming!

Seems like theres no date for 460's, which i bet is the most common fermi chip in use today.

Because they were released half way through December? I'm guessing they were in the 'other' section and they should feature on the January list...

That's quite surprising, I was under the impression Nvidia had a slightly higher portion of the graphics card market than AMD, especially with how cheap the GTX 460 is/was.

I don't mean to be rude but, who cares what Steam is reporting regarding AMD and Nvidia?. On the graphic card section it just gives certain idiots the opportunity to start nut hugging either AMD or Nvidia.

I also don't believe that to be a true reflection on sales of either manufacturer. Nothing even remotely close to it. The title of this thread is extremely misleading and the evidence isn't reliable.

Now I'm off to grab some popcorn and watch where this thread goes :D.

Well I had zero issue using the HD 5870 for gaming and I didn't need my own nuclear power plant to run them either, they were also cheaper to get that nVidia's GTX480.

The breakdown Redmint posted is a breakdown of DX11 graphic cards only. It's a subset of the total. It's no secret that AMD/ATI have dominated this category, thanks to their early start, but when looking at total graphic figures, NVidia have a comfortable lead.

Also, this data is specifically, people who are using steam - i.e. gaming pcs. Intel's integrated graphics naturally don't show up on this chart well, though across the whole computer market (rather than "Gaming PCs that use steam"), they are the dominant form.

Yeah, only Steam users.

This is what I was getting at, that it's not exactly a good representation to have the thread named "No one uses Fermi for Gaming!" as it's only steam and not exactly a proper representation of card sales. The thread is misleading and I can almost smell the battle tension in the air between team red and green :D.

It's pretty funny seeing Intel and dominant form with anything graphic related in the same sentence. I'm not saying it's not true, just that it's amusing :D.
