No output to monitor from Mobo or GPU

My friend has a DELL and has suffered the loss of his graphics output from both the mobo and Dedicated GPU, Have tried swapping ram sticks out and removing the GPU and just trying the mobo port on its own, no joy or change in what happens,

Just wondering, could this be down to a dead CMOS battery? I haven't got a spare one to try, but Id rather not go out and buy one if there's no chance it could be due to the battery
