Tried that twice, also went and bought vista, xp and good old windows 98 and still the same. Will try from my nintendo wii browser shortly, I'm 99% sure that will work.

Already done, I just need to remember to load the proxy first before logging in or they will recognise my IP.

Yep, you can be banned from any specific part of the forums or from the whole shebang. It really just depends on what you've done - if you're generally ok but for some reason act like a complete idiot in one specific area then you may be banned from there only.

What language do you have the forums set to, English (UK), or English (US)?

The (UK) setting breaks it for me, (US) is fine, and the option comes back.
