no post

hi all, got a problem with my computer.
it has a long beep and wont post,
just a black screen.iv,e got the mobo
on a peice of card bord nothing plugged
except 2 512 sticks of ram,which i changed
but still beeps and no post. any help please

onboard graphics, changed the ram, still
continuous beeping sound and
it will not post to see the bios
what can i try?

already tried that, got mobo sitting on
cardboard, got psu plugged in
got mono cable plugged in,
2 sticks of ram and it still
beeps and will not post.

have reseated the psu and
the gpu fan and reseated the
video card for my mono,
reset bios via by removing
battery for a few mins,
reseated ram but still
beeps and no post,
do you think its my motherboard
thats the problem?

its an old build im putting it in new case.
usin old hdd from other pc plus i hdd from another
pc. the cpu fan is 3 pin and it spins ok as does psu
but no post
