Hi, I've just had a pc delivered from OverClockers. I removed the packaging from inside and plugged it into the monitor, but when I turn the pc on the monitor says No signal detected. The monitor works, and i hae tried with both a hdmi cable and a D Sub cable, both get the same message, which makes me think it's something wrong with the pc.
Bearing in mind this is brand new, is there something that needs plugging in inside the rig that I wont have done?

Thanks.

Incase it helps the pc is

Power Supply: OCZ ZS 750w PSU
- CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K 3.40GHz @ 4.30GHz Processor
- Motherboard: Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H Intel Z77 Chipset (Socket 1155) Motherboard
- RAM:Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 16GB DDR3 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
- Hard Drives: OCZ Agility 3 240GB SSD & 1TB HDD
- Graphics Card: KFA2 GeForce GTX 680 LTD OC 2048MB GDDR5
- Sound: 7.1 Channel Sound (On-Board)
- Optical Drive: OcUK 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black)
- Cooler: Prolimatech Genesis Black CPU Cooler

When trying the Dsub it was in the port marked dsub on the monitor and marked with a little picture of a monitor on the pc. The HDMI cable i plugged into the 2 ports with HDMI written on them. I think that's what you mean?

Did you use the ports on the motherboard I/O shield (metal rectangle on back of PC with loads of ports) or the ports on the graphics card?

I cant see a slot lower down that will fit the plug, do i need to have the pc open to do this?

Sorry about my incompetence, when it comes to computers I'm like a frightened horse on a frozen lake.

check the boxes they may have not put the Gpu in with the pc? if it is it then look at the very bottom of the back of the case u will see the psu then up abit you will see the GPU there u can plug into your monitor

That image is merely acting as an example and yours won't look identical.

The vertical silver/white area is the motherboard I/O which on your motherboard has D-Sub, DVI and HDMI outputs. I'm guessing you've tried using these.

The two horizontal ports further down is the rear of the graphics card.

The GPU is in, but the only ports i see on it are labelled 'mini HDMI' and 'DP'
Does this mean I have to get a new cable to actually display on my monitor?

DP = Display port.

As for the mini HDMI port the card would have come with a Mini HDMI <> HDMI adapter in the packaging. I would assume OCUK would pass on all the accessories when you purchased the PC. Have you checked the box(es) ?

Edit - That card definitely comes with a mini HDMI adapter. Two infact.

THere's none I can see  The 2 spare cables in the box are the ones that go into the graphics card inside the machine. I'll just head out tomorrow and get an adapter. If that doesnt work I may be back tomorrow ;) THanks for the help!

The two spare cables are simply molex > PCI-E power adapters which you can ignore.

There should be two black "stubby" adapters/dongles (call them what you will) as well however.

There's a small chance I may have just found it under my new keyboard.

And it now works!! Thankyou so much! Just out of curiosity, why dont the motherboard ports work?

Glad you got it working :)

The motherboard ports are there if you want to use a CPU with onboard graphics and/or Lucid Virtu MVP.
