Ok guys, time for you to shine before I pay 30 quid for a diagnostic at the local pc shop.

Basically when my pc is turned on the monitor says no signal input however the monitor is fine as I tried it on a laptop.

I then though maybe it's the gfx card but even when i changed to onboard it did the same. Does this mean its most likely a motherboard or psu problem?

Any help is appreciated.

Motherboard I'd say, but it's 50/50 really on that or the PSU as you mention. Before you take it over to the local pc store you should use a multimeter on the PSU cables to test if you have power from the PSU. I assume the computer is booting in a sense that fans are spinning and it generally appears to power up?

i would say its the PSU. sounds like its dieing and its not giving the
mother board its power it needed.

try a different PSU and im sure your system will work again. the only problem
you might have is if you was using a cheap PSU. if so it could have taken other
hardware out. so if your gonna get a new PSU spend abit more on it as it will
save you money in the future.

yes fans and what not start whizzing etc, just no screen image.

psu is a corsair 520w
motherboard is abit F-I90

considering the decency of the psu and many stories of the abit boards failing i spose it's more likely to be the motherboard.
