right here goes, i installed some more memory (OCZ reaper) into my computer today, after i finished all i got on power-up was 'no signal' on my monitor and GFX fan spinning at full speed, the thing thats baffling me is i removed the modules and everything worked fine again, anyone got any ideas? thanks

If I am right, some P35 boards have a glitch/bug where 4gb of ram makes them boot incorrectly. But would boot on the 3rd/4th try.

My old P35C DS3R used to do it.

I am sure someone else would provide a more detailed answer though on the matter.

does it work with just the new RAM in?

have you tried upping the voltages a bit when all the sticks are in (old and new)?

try taking your CPU back to stock, to see if it eliminates that problem, as increasign the number of ram sticks may affect OCing stabilty if i remember correctly

definately sounds like an incompatibility somewhere. As well as doing what jak731 says above it could also be worth seeing if there is a later bios for your board.

first thing i did was swap the modules using just the new ones, worked fine with two modules, i cannot touch clock settings, voltage, etc as all i get upon power-up is 'no signal' nothing else
