No snow this year :(

Why would you expect snow in the UK anyway? Our climate isn't really right for it which is why its a rare event and why everything goes crazy when we do get it.

Thank god. Now i dont have to worry about flights from Heathrow or slipping on my jacksie going for a loaf of bread! Or spending 9 hours doing a 20 minute Reading to Bracknell journey stuck on the A329M... Why do we like snow again? :)

Where does it say no snow this year? There's nearly 6 weeks left and there's no a snowballs hope in hell they can forecast anything like that.

If theres no snow I just hope that means there wont be much ice either. I dont want another winter like the last couple. Nothing like skating to work along pavements of black ice to start your day off =/

I dont care if it snows, its better if it doesnt but please, give us arctic cold weather for at least a few weeks so I can shift the portable heaters ive imported from Poland!

This. If it was just snow it's a nice change in scenery, but I absolutely hate the ice that forms afterwards since I have about a 15 minute walk to the station from home, and the ice makes it really nerve racking, even when wearing hiking boots.

So now they're saying there'll be no snow, just like a handful of weeks ago they were saying we're going to have a massive amount of snow... I don't even think they know to be honest.

 From the OP's link:

UK Outlook for Wednesday 7 Dec 2011 to Wednesday 21 Dec 2011:

The generally unsettled theme looks set to continue through the early to middle part of December, with spells of wet and windy weather separated by some drier interludes. Temperatures will be largely around average, perhaps becoming slightly above average, by mid-December. However, some colder spells are still to be expected at times. Even with average or slightly above average temperatures, frosts are still likely, particularly on the clearer and more settled nights. Rainfall amounts will be around average, with the wettest weather likely across western parts and some snow probable over the higher ground of northern UK, particularly during the colder spells. Sunshine amounts are also likely to be around or slightly above average in this rather changeable regime.

So some snow this year just not the bad sort that causes everything to grind to a halt for days.
