I have a problem and I'm just about ready to throw my PC out of a window...

I have a Samsung 32" LCD and I have a PC, my PC is plugged into the TV via a HDMI cable, it's a Radeon HD5850, HDMI going straight from that into my TV, the picture quality is excellent but I have no sound, this is what I have in my sound preferences in control panel:

Realtek HDMI Output (ATI HDMI Audio not plugged in)

Digital Audio HDMI (High definition audio device Default device)

Speakers (Realtek high definition audio ready)

Realtek Digital Output (Realtek high definition audio ready)

Now, I presume the first in that list, the ATI one, is my graphics card, I don't know why it says it's not plugged in because clearly it is otherwise I wouldn't have a picture... I've tried unplugging and plugging back in the cable but it still says it's unplugged, not sure what any of the others are but I've tried enabling and disabling each of them and I'm still getting no sound, I'm really just about ready to pull my hair out, I know it's me that's doing something wrong but I just don't know what the problem is. :(

I've looked for ATI drivers for sound and I can't find anything at all, maybe I'm looking for the wrong thing, if it helps I have the following:

Zotac 93000ITX Wi-Fi mobo

Radeon Powercolor HD 5850

Win 7 Premium 64 bit

Please help! I feel like crying. :( :(

Might be a setting on the TV, mine needs telling the where the audio is coming from sometimes, especially if it's a certain HDMI port.

Because it says 'not plugged in' it sounds like a driver issue. Try loading the latest ATI HDMI driver, usually included with the Catalyst bundle I think, should tell you it's installing it. I think 10.7 are out now/soon. You could also try disabling the motherboard one. Does the ATI one ever say it's ready? I remember having this issue but not how I fixed it, think it was drivers and minor.

I've just uninstalled the Realtek drivers and I'm going to look into the Catalyst ones now, if there are any. I've got Catalyst Control Centre already due to the graphics card and I did have a look just now on ATI's driver checker and the only drivers it found were the Catalyst Control Centre drivers which from what I can tell don't have any options for audio, although I may be wrong, I just couldn't see any.

EDIT: Fixed the problem, I uninstalled the Realtek drivers and upon restarting the ATI option which previously said not plugged in was already selected as the default, I fired up Youtube and it now works. :)
