I decided to set up a SPDIF between my pc and my stereo and it hasn't gone to plan.
The problem is that I get no sound through my stereo (Sony CMT-HP7) when it's connect to my sound card (SoundMAX), I've set up the relevant features in vista to allow sound to be sent through the SPDIF, in the sound control panel the EQ on the right next to the device is playing but my stereo doesn't pick it up. The stereo is set to MD which is the correct setting, it works when the 3.5mm to the red/white plugs are in the stereo but the optical doesn't work at all.
Anyone have any ideas that I may be missing or totally forgetting to do?
