no usb keyboard on boot up

hi guys i have the titan vulcan with the below mobo

Gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard

my question....i have a usb keyboard connected to the tower and on boot up i cant use it to make alterations in the bios or even swap between my dual operating sytems. unless i have a ps2 keyboard connected.

in the bios i have enabled usb keyboard and mouse and saved it.

any suggestions guys?

im assuming the USB keyboard has been verified as working?

1) Can you use the keyboard to enter Bios
2) If yes above.... Can you get to safe mode?

yes if i press delete i can go into the bios.

no i cant get into safe mode

fyi its a saitek eclipse keyboard

thats odd...

if it lets you into the bios then there is no reason why it wont let you into safe mode as neither use any drivers to load up the bog standard keyboard as its all dos based i believe.

My first call of action would to do a hard bios reset by removing the battery for a few minutes then ajusting the USB functions in the bios manually again if it fails to boot upon reset. Try that and update us and ill rethink.

IIRC my old saitek eclipse had the same problem. I think using a USB->PS/2 adapter solved it.
