Hi guys
i updated to a new windows 10 build last night however today when i tried to run my games using virtual super resolution none would work
looked online for help but nothing ( not even on AMD forum ) .. so i reverted back to the previous windows build ( possible by going to settings>update and security>recovery>go back to previous build ) ... that took just 2 minutes and all games are ok at 2560x1440 ..
why do microsoft continue to update ( or shall we call it destroy ) a working version of windows, and it annoyed me as one of the so called improvements is the inclusion of skype ( gee-wiz lol )
so anyone having problems with VSR just revert back to previous build as directed above
good luck

Latest version of Windows 10 here and amd driver VSR working.

i updated it last night ... games such as metro redux ( both games ) and half life 2 wouldnt allow me to set it to 2560x1440 ( on 1080p display ) .... did you reinstall the latest AMD crimson drivers post update ?

so thats it .. the new build conflicted with the installed amd crimson driver and all i needed to do was uninstall>reinstall driver ... well im not running the update again ( not at least until after xmas ) ..... and this build will do for now ( running all games ok ) ... thanks for the obvious advice ( gonna slap myself in the face now lol ) .. cheers mate

Hang on. Why would one need to reinstall ones GPU drivers after some ****** windows update????? When was that a rule? Good thing I had completely disabled windows update on my win 10 machine. Imagine you get an update from MS couple of times a week which always asks for restart of the system, then after that you have to uninstall GPU driver, which again requires restart, and then install same driver which again requires reboot.
MS is seriously trying to p*** everyone off with their new policies regarding updates.

It's not the same thing.

I presume he's on the Windows 10 insider preview, like me.

They push out complete OS updates in one go.

That's a lot different from the cosumer version of Windows 10 putting small patches out

If he on the inside version then he shouldn't be mad when things go wrong.. This is a testing version of Windows and comes as is...

You must never use this version on your main pc..

right guys ... heres the deal ( in order )
1) originally upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10 ( when it was released in the summer ) .. both were proper versions and not preview or beta
2) windows update done last night ( 8/12/15) and all went well .. no probs during update ...
3) went to run game today and i couldnt use VSR ... everytime i tried it was either over scaled or no signal on monitor (32" )
4) reverted back to original windows 7 build and VSR works ok
i do believe if i reinstalled the AMD crimson drivers post update then this may of worked ...
in summary i wasnt using any testing/beta versions of windows ... my windows 10 im using was upgraded from a genuine windows 7 ultimate 64bit

i dont use any preview/insider versions of windows full stop .. both my pc,s use genuine windows ( one is windows 10 pro which was upgraded from windows 7 ultimate ) and the other is running windows 7 ultimate 64bit .. basically best of both

has anyone actually run the windows 10 update ... its unlike normal updates .. it takes around 50 minutes ( and thats using a core i5/8gb ddr3 and a 256gb ssd ) ... it was basically like a windows 10 installation again ( but it said "updating windows" instead of "installing windows "

It might of needed turning back on in the AMD files. I did that with it when it was CCC. I can't remember what it was I updated but it reverted the CCC options I had chosen back to default. I was flummoxed for about a day and then I thought I'd better check it and found it had been switched off.

I updated to this last month , again no issues here.
Have you tried running DDU display driver uninstaller from guru3D and then install amd drivers again?

Windows 10 Vsr working great on my downstairs pc with a 1080p dell touch screen monitor.

Now using amd crimson which amd popped up today asking me to update getting very good frames in ark.
