Saw a white sporty looking car in the petrol station not too long ago with the reg ''X6 GTO'', I've never seen one before so googled it, turned out to be an m12 gto, had a look on pistonheads to then be shocked that these cost ~£20k

All the adverts don't even stretch to more than two pages so guessing it's pretty rare, this some sort of classic? And why does it have the same rear lights as a mk1 mondeo?

There's quite a few bit and bobs from the Ford parts bin on all the Nobles.

And in this case, the 2.5 V6 is Fords too.

Later Nobles used the 3l V6 from the ST220.

Older ones used the gearboxes from mondeos didn't they? then they created their own.

Or is that the M10 to M12 switch...

The Nobles that use the ST220 V6 also use the ST220 6-speed box.

I think, but not 100% sure that the Ford 2.5 V6 engined ones used the older 5-speed Mondeo box too.

Tbh your motors posting privileges should be removed for not knowing what a noble is...

...as well as the rest of your posting privileges for your google being broken too :p

I forget what model of Noble it was that I passengered round Bruntingthorpe in, but heck it was quick :D

Test drove an M12 before I settled on the M5 - unbelievably raw! Didn't get a chance to drive it hard but just the "cruising" aspect of it was extremely track-esq. If I wasn't so tall (and fat) it would have been a serious contender. Surprisingly beautiful for what it is too.

In what world is a stripped out plastic-fantastic twin turbo near-kitcar a 'serious contender' against a BMW M5?! They are both totally different! Surely a Noble simply wont offer what an M5 fan wants from a car in the same way that an M5 simply won't offer what a Noble fan wants?

Haha! Nah I didn't mean a contender against my M5, I just meant it would have stayed high up on my "what car to buy" list if I fit in it better.

I know 3 or 4 people who've owned them and I think it's fair to say none would want one again. Now as with all these things that's hardly scientific but I do believe they can be very troublesome. I remember testing the M400 version and it was very rapid and seemed very well sorted but the thought of dropping over 60K on something that looked such a parts bin special was scary. The interior, which I know is not vital on such a car, was awful and I seem to recall I struggled to get my feet comfy due to a poorly placed spaceframe bar in the footwell. Quick mind.
