Everyone is familiar with the Noctua range by now, but theres no 140mm fan.

I sent an e-mail off last night asking about it and i got this in reply today.

first of all many thanks for choosing Noctua products and for your trust in our brand.

We are working on a 140mm fan for quite a while now and you can expect a first showing at Computex 2009. What I can't tell you at the moment is a timeframe when the fan will be available as a retail product, just that we expect it to be in the second half of 2009.

Best regards,

Looks like a good quality 140mm fan is on the way :)

i wonder what the numbers are gonna be like?.

i'm actually on the hunt for a decent 140mm fan for my much battered & abused Lian Li PC7, which is going to get hacked about yet again. thinking about a Xigmatek 140mm, but i'm not sure there numbers add up.

Air Pressure: 63.5 CFM
Noise Level: <16 dBA
Speed: 1000 RPM

sounds almost too good to be true

Hehe- the megahalems is pretty darn good. got it running an i7 920 D0 @3.6 at 65 degrees load. Thats with 2 noctua P12s tho - so the airflow isn't exactly in Delta territory, but my goodness its quiet.

Megahalems works well. Its still great if it didn't cos it looks like Optimus Prime

Only bad thing is the lack of availability, especially on Europe. AFAIK only place u can get it right now is a site in germany. I also couldn't get hold of a second set of official fan clips so I had to bend some IFX ones. Sliced my finger, but its all good got a second Noctua on there :)

Edit: Found a couple downsides to the Megahalems though. The mounting system which it is favoured for caused a couple problems with my build. The holes in the metal places which go over the double sided thumbscrews don't line up correctly. I didn't feel comfortable applying the amount of pressure I had to to get it to fit.

Also the sheer height of the beast forced me to remove the fan door on my CM Stacker. Those were sad sad days.

On the bright side it is an excellent air cooler though.

the noctua fans are prety good cooling wise, but i prefer sharkoon fans, the noctuas are that darned ugly, if noctua made their fans in black and white, id buy them without hesitation (well if they made a 2000 rpm pwm fan) which sharkoon do now, all the benefits of motherboard speed control without using voltage adaptors.

140mm fans for the new thermochill RAD....might make getting one worth it if their are decent fans coming out
