I feel its about time AS6 was invented. :(

Quoted :

" Summary:

Obviously, from my testing, Noctua has a great product in their new NT-H1 thermal compound, it offers instant thermal conductivity, which translates to great performance from the minute you apply it.

NT-H1 has many other features going for it as well, including being non-conductive, long shelf life, long usage time, large quantity and a low price, all of these things combine to make an excellent product that in the highly competitive market will be hard to beat.

Noctua has a great product on their hands, now they just need to market it, promote it and get it into the hands of users who can help spread the word about this great product.

DragonSteelMods gives the Noctua NT-H1 Thermal Compound a 5 out of 5 score and our Recommended Award as well. "

" Pros:

-Not electrically conductive

-Instant thermal conductivity

-Long usage time (up to 3yrs)

-Large amount in tube, many applications

-Low price

Cons:

-Thick consistency, hard to spread

-Not widely available "

Not a fan of Coolaboratory Liquid Pro. It's hard to spread and basically brazes your CPU to the HSF.

The Noctua, on the other hand looks nice. I wonder if OcUK will stock it.

I've been using Coollab Liquid pro for a few months.

It spreads , eventually , after a thorough cleaning of the IHS ( with IPA ).

Not seen any amazing results from it , and won't be using it for my next build.

Yeah I used it awhile ago with my AMD setup...it's a good TIM but hardly worth the trouble.

Used what m8, cause I think the above peep thinks you mean the new Noctua and I assume its just new out.

(I know you mentioned another TIM above also)

If your gonna post BS in my thread, at least give info to back it up, I went to this url (got from other thread here) http://www.dansdata.com/goop.htm

There is no where in that review (if it could even be called that its a mess) that they tested it against Noctua.

Noctua are a good brand and the Nt-H1 looks promising; however, rightly or wrongly this stuff appears ( on initial reading ) a good option! No BS here!

Sorry I was talking about the Coolaboratory Liquid Pro....the noctua I haven't used but would like to try it out depending ont he price.

AS5 is old school and people that still recommended have their head in the sand.

Reason people recommend this is cause it's not that bad, it's fairly easy to spread and can be purchased from most places, nothing to do with having their heads in the sand as far as I'm concerned.

EDIT: So what paste do you recommend then?

I'm not implying that AC5 is bad but its definitely be superseded with better products.
I'm currently using MX-2. Good stuff and easy to paste.

I used MX-2 on my Q6600 and found it a right royal bitch to get an even thin spread, the more I played with it the more drier the paste seemed to get making it even more difficult. And has anybody noticed that MX-2 and cling-film don't get on as I tried spreading it that way but it seemed to just dissolve the cling-film. :)
