How long does it take for the splash screen to load nod32 and stay up? mine takes 30 seconds or so.

Now disabled the splash screen, no change in performance.

Also when booted up if i say open firefox and go to the start menu within a second of doing so, the programs tab behaves like it would if i had 8mb of ram....i have 2gb and a conroe.

all this happened ever since installing nod32. I love the fact im virus free, but when it takes 3 mins to boot and 5 mins to shutdown, with no spyware on the pc at all, it gets annoying.

Mine sometimes loads straight away and other times can take 20 secnds or so. This is on Vista X64 mind you but when I was using XP Pro it loaded straight away.

nod32 splash shows for about 5 seconds on start, doesnt affect shutdown speed on my pc as far as i'm aware, but my pc is fileld with junk so shutdown isnt what you call instant anyhow, but its acceptable not longer as a minute anyhow...

I turn off the splash screen in settings.

If there are any problems with nod, just reinstall, occasionally you get a bad install/corruption like all av's.

what else do you have running at startup?

nod32 should only add a few seconds to startup speed..

disabling the splash screen speeds it up a bit (at least it seems to)

this is what its like if i move windows around, not just ftp either...

CLIstart (ati catalyst)

Sorry to butt-in

I deleted the Catalyst program from my start group due to problems. It didn't help the problems so I want to put it back but didn't take a note of the program name. Could you give the the program name & any switches of the start item please?
