We've got 2 different CRT TVs here. The problem is that when using a device that connects to the TV using SCART, I can see not only the image of the device (dvd player and digital cable receiver), but also the image of the last analog channel that I've tuned to as a transparent layer. It are a Philips and Samsung TV that haven't got any warranty.

I've tried different SCART cables and also different SCART ports. Could this be a malfunction that happens to be in both TVs by coincidence?

Sounds like crappy cables. You need a decently shielded SCART cable (not one of these cheap £5 jobbies).

But it may also be very bad shielding in the TV itself in which case you can't really do anything about it....other than maybe changing to a channel of static before watching a DVD :)

I fixed the problem. There appears to be an analog channel that shows a solid black screen. When I turn on that channel and then switch to the DVD player or Digital Receiver, the noise is gone :)

Excellent....technically it's still there, it's just black ;)
