noise problems

Hi went scaborough the other day and a lot of my shots have really bad noise problems, i shoot raw and usually use either AV or P mode, but i have never had this problem before now any ideas?

i have a 350D

oh the light was very BRIGHT no clouds and a low winter sun.

I know that a high ISO can cause noise, have you set it to a high ISO by accident?

From the exif, it seems you shot the image at ISO400 - there will be some noise in the darker areas if you do this.

well it seems that it actually just looks a lot worse in CS2, so im going to have to have a play with the color settings i think somethig must be wrong somewhere

Ive seen fantastic scenes where ISO3200 is used and because the photographer used the light to his advantage they looked super.

On a 350D that is the amount of noise you will be getting at 400 in your shadow details.

If there's a lot lot of light just set it to ISO100 rather than 400
