Noisy Drive

One of my storage drives has recently started to be really noisy, both in general when it spins and when reading. Is there anything I can do to quieten it or is it time for a new drive?

It may be the drive making the case resonate so check the mountings. One option might be to bungee mount it to isolate it from the case.

i would do a backup asap in case it is failing, and take a look in the events logs.for disk related errors.

I can't see anything in the event logs about errors.

I'll have a look at whether it's the case resonating, but I think even the noise when it's reading/writing will get on my nerves
