Noisy phone line, unstable net access. Advice?

I'd go for compensation mate. You might not get anywhere but can't say you didn't try. I suggest to write a formal letter, and address it to someone important like the customer services director or something. Also, cc it to Oftel customer services dept and make sure its apparent that you have cc'd it, as it may be the leverage you need to get some compensation.

Try and include costs for any upheaval, like days taken off work waiting for engineer, costs of swapping and changing equipment etc.
 
:( The net got cut twice today and I had to do the strange thing of picking up my phone and hanging up to get the router to dial a connection back.

The phone is not really crackly but there is a trace of it, so my problem is not fixed yet.
