I just received this phone today as part of a deal through my work (free phone, free PS3, £31p/m contract) and my intention was to just sell it on - it seemed to have the highest resell value of all the phones I was offered.
Now, after having had a play about with it, I'm quite liking it and toying with the idea of keeping it.

What I'm wondering is if there are any people out there who have one and what they think of it, how it performs, anything I should know etc. Basically it's the sleekness and solidity of the phone that's impressed me - it's still charging up so not had a great deal of time to try out the phone itself.

I currently have a K800i and although I was liking it fine up until now, it just looks cheap and bulky in comparison. I do however like the camera on it and so  not sure which one to keep!

I really like the look of this phone... But think i am going to go for the N73 as although its a bit thicker it seems to have all the functions i want/need and has the interface i was always sorry i left to go to smartphone...

I'm not a massive phone user, but the 6300 is absolutely brilliant. Fast, reliable, sturdy, doesn't crash..... it feels like the speed and simplicity of the very old Nokia phones has finally been established with the new technology available.

Bloody brilliant.

Man.... hope you read the terms and conditions of your probably horrendous cashback deal.

lol, no cashback deal. The offer was Nokia 6300 (I said free but actually had to pay £29.99), free PS3, and £55p/m (1200mins/300texts) contract but through my work we get discount on Orange contracts taking the monthly rental down to £31p/m.
The other bonus is I now get Orange unlimited broadband for £5p/m rather than the £24p/m I'm paying my current ISP. Only problem with that is I hear Orange BB is a bit pants.

As for the phone, after reading a couple of reviews yesterday I pretty much decided not to keep it (they criticised the camera quality and the lack of proper Internet browsing). But now today, after playing about with it a bit longer I think I'll be selling the K800i instead - just love the quality feel of the 6300!

First post in this section of the forums

I'm getting the Black N73 today.. was a toss up between the 6300 though!

Orange were supposed to phone me at 7.30pm this evening to offer me a new deal & phone, and I was all set to ask for a black N73.

Quite by chance a mate just stopped by with a 6300 and now I'm in two minds.

It doesn't do half the stuff the N73 does, but I've got an N80 at the moment and all I never use any of the extras.

Hmmmm....

I really like the 6300 - a phone I will keep for a while I think, Usually I switch to a new phone once every 1/2 months.

Only bad thing about it as with all phones is that the battery doesn't seem to last too long, but I use my phone 1-3 hours per day so no phones last long for me :p

Been speaking to a lot of people in the industry daily and everyone reckons 6300 is the next 6310 :D

6300 rocks.

I love the USB port giving direct acess to memory, with Nokia pc thing you can do all mods etc. I've trasfered 2GB data on and off repeatdly to see what happen nothing died it did as i asked.

So far i have 3000 txt's on there and it's not died on me yet. It does take some time to laod up and before i can use the phone but i nver switch it off to be honest.

Nice style, light weight, robust.

Good camera

Music player is amazing, one that works. A first in the Nokia range

Only down side is the voice tag thing, they do there own you can't change it and it ont say everything correctly, bloody gay.

I highly rate this phone so far.

Keypad is rock soild too and i will use it a lot.

Might get futremark mobile on there and see what it does LOL

I've had my 6300 for a few days now and am really pleased with it. I bought it to replace my 6310i which has served me incredibly well for the last 7 or 8 years!! I would definately recommend the 6300.

My wife has had a 6300 for a few weeks now, and she loves it, was tempted to get one myself too after using hers, feels 'right' in your hand, nicely weighted and solidly built.

Yes, your right, it does just feel right in your hand.

1 thing is annoying me though which I'm hoping 1 of you guys knows the answer too. I am on O2 PAYG. After I send a text or make a call my current balance appears on the screen which is fine, but the annoying thing is that the phone plays a text alert tone when this message arrives. On my old 6310 I got the new balance message but it came in silently. Does anyone know how to stop the tone playing??

Thanks.
