Nokia Freebees (Lumia 830/930)

You're not wrong!!! I just had a play with it (it's now charged!)

Stuck it on the Fridge and Stuck a bit of Floyd through it!! ******* hell... Sounds really good!! I can now listen to music whilst I cook and still hear it over the extractor!!!

I'll get a video up when I can steal the wife's Lumia 620 (can't play music whilst recording video apparently!! :( )

Stick on top of some thing a bit more hollow ( not solid wood) you get much better bass.

Most 920 users instead of bumping up to the 930 will be dropping back to the 830 due to Glance & the SD card slot.

And on that note, I've just realised I'm now past my upgrade date HAPPY DAYS!

830 ordered tomorrow! :D

I was one of the unlucky ones duped into getting the 930 (must remember to put it on eBay, its been sitting in the box for like a month lol). Currently holding out for the 940 expected next year.

Considering we discussed it for weeks on here I'm surprised you didn't know it didn't have glance. My mate got caught out the same, came round my house moaning he couldn't get it working.

Any idea when these mythical 940's are out? I'm quite happy to wait with my 920 till then if needs be.

Right ... it's been a tough decision, I even had the phone in my hand ready to dial EE and order a 830, but I've decided to keep the 920 until the W10 phones come out. As much as I'd like a new shiny thing with an SD card slot, there's nothing wrong with my 920 and I'll only be jealous of the new w10 phones, anyway. Hopefully MS will pull something special out of the bag!

According to the specs leaked from a supplier the Lumia 940 looks to be shaping up very nicely:

5-inch 1080p Gorilla Glass 4 protective screen.
2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805.
3GB of RAM.
New PureView camera with a 24 megapixel resolution that will be able to shoot 4K video at 60fps.
5MP Selfie cam.
Dimensions 137 x 71 x 8.9mm.
Weight 149g.

Windows 10 as standard and most importantly, Glance support.

Very Tasty

Any idea on time frame before its on sale?

Nope, have a look at the T&Cs, 14th Jan is for claiming only, closes in December (as of yesterday anyway) :)

Dam, means i may need to speak to EE next month and see how much it will cost me to end early, should only be a month left to pay.

Got to be later next year I guess, around the same time as Windows 10 for PC i would imagine.

That was all made up, no source for any that.

W10 is still about a year away for starters.

What makes you say WP10 is a year away, the preview was released September 30th.

http://www.winbeta.org/news/microsoft-has-starting-issuing-windows-phone-10-builds-partners

Microsoft appears to have begun issuing builds of Windows Phone 10 to select partners outside company walls. According to our sources who are close to the matter, the build issued to partners is a fairly old build, and doesn't include any on-the-surface features. However we can confirm that the build being issued out to partners is branded as Windows Phone 10.

That's what I read somewhere, also that floppy haired Joe bloke from MS keeps hinting on Twitter.

Plus as they've demoed it already to press, I doubt they'll leave it till next winter.

I can wait till next April .... see what happens
