Nokia N9

if you think this is impressive then you need to check out the 800, the design looks pretty much identical and the software is also stunning, there also appear to be issues with the N9, not massive ones based around the camera etc but I'm sure they'll be ironed out in the 800 but all the rest of it is much the same, awesome build quality, very sleek lines and feel, beautiful screen etc etc.

Why would liking MeeGo on the N9 mean you would like Mango onthe 800? Personally I think WP7 is horrible but would loved to have had an N9 (at a reasonable price).

I mean that it's exciting to have decent responsive touchscreen software paired up with Nokias great build quality.

It looks great, maybe Nokia could have pulled this off... if they had released it a year ago and managed to price it really well.

With good support, it could have probably worked even priced this badly, it's still getting a lot of attention!

Thats the thing, ICS needs better hardware to run. Personally I dont like Android at all - In terms of the N9 the hardware isnt its main selling point, the OS is..

Another fairly awesome review.. http://www.slashgear.com/nokia-n9-review-23190157/

Android would run perfectly fine on that hardware, people would feel hard done by paying that much for a generation old hardware is what i'm getting at.

Apart form the CPU its not a generation old - camera and screen are top end. I see your point that the CPU is older, dont really understand the CPU obsession though as long as it runs fast enough.:)

the old soc is the reason it cant have a smooth 1080p or maybe even a 720p camcorder.

edit : engadget review shows how jittery the camera is at 720p
