Master system emulator sounds like exactly what im after for when it appears!
Any chance if you can find it that you could try the snes emulator that was kicking about in the early days of this phones development. Also if theres any sort of portable gameboy stuff and megadrive stuff il be set
That torrent thing sounds awesome too.

That is all quite exciting, the torrent thing sounds ace - being open source it will be a good way to distribute stuff.

Seems similar to the n97 which was really good for playing mega drive games. I managed to complete sonic 3 and knuckles without any grief so the keys should be fine.

Ah, just rang MPD, for those that are interested "Ready For Despatch" means that its being shipped from whatever warehouse to the store, and they'll be working on the orders over the next few days, so they should have all the orders in their owners hands by Monday.
Bit of a poor choice of words for an Order Status note really, still Monday is fine. My old contract ends on Tuesday, so a day to spare.

Is there any news on battery life as I'd heard initial reports it was less than a day for moderate use?

Ok am bored on the bus so a mini review with a few questions for those who've had theirs longer.
Opened the box and was struck by how good it looks, never thought of it as a looker but indeed it is, not even bad with the keys open. initial start up took 30 secs and off we went through the coolness of the time and date. So, straight to the internets! you know that this is the purpose of the device and boy is it good at it. No mobile sites encountered yet, even facebook defau.ts to full site and it runs the web very quickly - it embarrasses my E71 which is a gppd smartphone.
I am typing from it at the mo and whilst it isn't perfect, it is the best mobile device I have used. only criticism is I keep hitting M instead of space but am sure I will get used to it. Touchscreen is very good, very slick and responsive and if you have any worries, it makes the 5800 look appauling and I thought that was a decent effort.
Am planning to try TV out with iplayer tomorrow, in the meantime, is there a tansfer tool like other Nokias have? I can't find one at the mo...

Iplayer wont work properly at the moment, TV out works fine except it seems a little quiet I have to turn the volume on my TV right up or maybe im going deaf

Ok, bit more time with the N900 and a few more thoughts.
It feels a little....disconnected from itself. Some of the software doesn't communicate with other bits. the browser being the main offender in that it ignores the fact the phone is on silent and ignores the auto capital function the sms has. It's a touch annoying, games etc are the same - sound needs to be disabled locally. Haven't worked out how to get the WLAN to come on and off at will but reckon it'll be a widget so no biggy. This may be a little ocd, but the icons don't sit neatly and it took me a lot of time to get them right, but it is very easy to have everything available so again, not too serious.
Other than those minor irritations, it is a stunning device, intuitive and responsive. It really is a tablet, not a phone but I like the changes such as the sms. It doesn't pop up when a message is received, but a little app on your desktop goes one better and displays new messages, which is a winner.. The keyboard compliments the touch screen and the whole experience seems slick to me. If I stop using it all the time and leave WLAN off I think 2 days battery is achievable, a day is easily done. Landscape mode is a joy to use, I don't miss portrait either.
I will update as I learn but do want to advise those who want a traditional mobile not to buy this - it's not for you. If you browse on the move however, get an N900.

What I was saying all along
Thanks on the battery life update. 810 allegedly can go on for two weeks on purely standby, obviously no wlan, how long does the battery last if you leave music and wlan on?
