Looking to replace my samsung u600 and was thinking about getting a n95, however people keep saying the orginal n95 is full of problems?

is it worth getting?

Yup, the software problems are all gone.

It doesn't crash, it's nippy, battery life has doubled with firmware 20.0.x.x. The only thing inferior to the 8GB is the build quality, screen size and battery life. That can last longer still due to higher capacity.

A bit, but I'm still finding I'm charging mine every night. Which is no inconvenience to me, but I last night for example I was on the phone for a total of something like 3 and a bit hours, and the battery had died during the last conversation. Oddly enough, the music player now seems to use hardly any power at all, had it on for about 4 hours on train journeys and what not last Friday and hadn't lost a single bar, lol.

i've read that you can used the higher capacity BL-6F on the N95 but not be able to put the battery cover on it though?

Yeah you can do that, with a bit of brute force and shaving a tiny bit of plastic off it squeezes in just. But to keep it in, you will need to get one of those crystal case so it doesn't fall out.

I charge mine now every other day, I used to charge it everyday but its not needed anymore.

I think its a bit of a far fetched to say the build quality is poor. There have been a few bad ones and annoyed people shout the loudest. My N95 has been a pleasure since I got it back in April I think it was (around release time).

I am not sure why people are obsessed with NOT charging their phones, I always chuck my phone on to charge any time I am at my desk (work or home) and have done for years with all my mobiles.

The new google maps is amazing on it, very very quick lock and so damn useful.

cheers for the replies guys, still not sure what phone to get! sooner i get rid of the u600 the better! have also been looking at the n73, looks like my old nokia 6680 which was a good phone.
