Nokia N97, Samsung Omnia i8910 HD or HTC Hero?

I'm on the verge of ordering a Hero...

There is a deal online for an Unlocked Hero on a Dolphin 40 package which includes 1200 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB data for £30 a month BUT 9 months at £15 by redemption.

EDIT: Ordered. I just hope the supposed lag isn't very noticeable to me.

Is that a 24 month contract?

Here's my opinion, and i'll add one more into the mix :P

Nokia N97 - A bit big, overpriced and resistive screen. Also its symbian, which isnt my number one choice. <-- Only if you're very used to the Nokia OS

Samsung Omnia i8910 HD - Resistive screen.and Windows Mobile - NO WAY! <-- rather use two cups and some string than use Windows Mobile again

HTC Hero - Looks pretty good. Android, Capacitive screen. Graphite (in Black) or Teflon (in Whte). <-- my second choice

Samsung Galaxy - Same as HTC Hero, but AMOLED screen, and few mm thinner. <-- my top choice

Omnia hd runs the same sybian software as the n97. I've had mine for 2 weeks and the phone is amazing. The screen is the best i've seen. Watched starwars on it yesterday and it was fantastic.

Someone I know abroad has that. He said its reallly nice (subjective of course) but its quite big because of the large screen, even tho it IS very very thin. I guess it depends if the trade off is worth it for you.

> Samsung Omnia i8910 HD - This phone is proving to be difficult to find a great deal about. One thing that puts me off the Omnia HD is the fact that my mate has an original Omnia and hates the bloody thing. He always complains about problems which include settings constantly changing or changing to their default value and touch screen issues. Have these problems been ironed out with the HD?

Sorry but, ignore your mates advice. He has a bad omnia clearly, mines PERFECTLY fine with no errors/problems whatso ever.

Agree with you Psypher5. No problems with mine either. Great phone. Screen is so clear and crisp. Runs smoothly. The camera is amazing as well takes good pictures.

I've got the i8910 and it must be said the firmware/software/whatever on it is ropey as hell. Nothing ever feels that together, certainly not like the - duh duh duh! - iPhone.

The phone has potential, but the software, applications and niggles hold it up hugely. It's one that you'll only get a lot out of if you stick with it.... for months...
