Received a voicemail earlier which I've long since listened to and deleted but the symbol refuses to leave the area. Not sure why it's bugging me so much but it is, so can anyone help me get rid of the damn thing?

I've turned the phone off a couple of times, removed the sim & battery for 10 mins or so, had people leave new voicemail which I've listened to and deleted but it's still there.

I'm with Orange.

It's happened before, but not for this long and turning it off for a bit or leaving/deleting another message usually clears it, but this one's a persistent little so and so...

No idea if I've got new voicemail or not, and the reception where I am at the moment is kinda sketchy so I keep having to check.
 
Sometimes, if your voicemail icon is stuck, you can leave yourself a new message, then try to make sure all the messages have been listened to/deleted again.

But then again, maybe I should read the posts fully first :(
 
Spoken to Orange about it, for anyone that has the same problem here's what needs to be done:

Remove your SIM card and place in another Orange phone, then phone your number and leave a voicemail. Listen to and delete the new voicemail on the borrowed phone containing your SIM card, then put SIM card back into your own phone and all should be well.

Need to find someone with an Orange phone (used to be loads of them about but all my mates are with Vodaphone now) so will let you know if it actually works.
