Non-competitive gaming

Do it in real life : two of you enter the boxing ring, but punch yourself instead of the 'opponent'. I plan to incorporate these activities when I start up my community. :D

In all seriousness, it isn't anything weird at all. I'd much rather become immersed into a good, solid fps / rpg anyday over a mp game. That said, I do think I need to try out a new mp soon. Time for a change. :)

I only enjoy competitive gaming if I'm at least OK at it :)
This will sound a bit girly but I am scared of competitive RTS, I much prefer coop vs AI. Used to play a lot of RA2 on LAN when I was at uni, but never against each other.

I haven't played any competitive games since the original unreal tournament, it made me realise I wasn't very good and didn't have the time to devote to improving. I play to relax and enjoy the story.

Totally the same here. I remember going to an internet cafe with a bunch of my colleagues and playing Unreal Tournament together - it was tremendous fun. But then as soon as we joined a game with strangers over the internet we were destroyed. Tried playing Day of Defeat too, and that was just a no-go. I never actually got to explore anywhere, actually gain any familiarity with my surroundings, just ended up dead every 5 seconds. Where's the fun?

Over the past 2 years I've been getting back into MP after something like an 8 yr break since my cs days. For some reason I only enjoy playing RTS against the AI with it being with friends or solo, I hate MP RTS. I mainly stick to FPS and MOBAs when playing competitively. I have found that the MP community has become pretty much unbearable at times which I'm sure it never used to be 10 years ago. too many but hurt kids online and others who take games ultra seriously. Games like Dota and HoN have horrible horrible communities which does put me off at times.

People need to chill the **** out :p
