Just looking at purchasing a 4k monitor. I don't play games and currently just use the onboard graphics.
If anyone could give me some advice as to the minimum spec graphics card I would need it would be much appreciated.

I don't know if it makes any difference but either an Asus PB279Q or Benq BL3201PT.

Thanks

I wouldn't recommend going as small as 27 inch with 4K.

The resolution is so high, even a 32 inch screen has smaller pixels than a 17 inch 1920x1080 screen.

At normal desk viewing-distance, I'd doubt many could tell the difference between 1440p and 4K in a 27 inch monitor.

Assuming the monitor and your motherboard have Displayport then you can even use onboard intel graphics.

If you want to be able to use HDMI2.0, nvidia 9xx series is the only game in town.

That is a concern, I was originally going for a Dell U2715H, this offered everything I need but I was looking at future proofing by going 4k.

My current monitor is a 10 year old 17" tft so any upgrade is going to be amazing.

Believe me its like chalk and cheese

I would. It's a qualitatively better experience.

I had the Rog Swift sat next to an Acer 4k and the difference in sharpness and detail is massive. I just could not get on with the Swift after having a 4k screen because it just looked blurred and out of focus.
