noob overclocking help

i have an Gigabyte GA P35-DS3P, iP35 Express, S 775, PCI-E x16,

Intel Core 2 Duo E4600, S775, 2.4 GHz, 800MHz FSB, 2MB Cache,

i want to try to overclock it has anyone got the same board and where do you start, does anyone have a step by step process of what you do in the bios and instructions on what to do as its my first time.
Also i have run a program called cpu-z and its says my core speed is 1805.2 how come when my cpu is a 2.4ghz
 
wouldn't say tjhts a fantastic guide tbh.

The reason cpu-z says its lower then it is is because your mobo nerfs your clock speed when its idle.

Download prime95 and run that ajnd check the speed you will see its up at 2.4ghz.
 
intels smart low power idea baffles a few people, it got me :( but i learnt my lesson :P
thats a decent guide tbh well looked at, altho i dont overclock myself....
