ive got a few parts already from my uncle

be quiet dark power pro (650w brand new :))
intel e5200 (also brand new)
antec 300
xigmatek s1823

wanna buy bang for buck parts if possible i only need stuff for the tower got mouse keyboard and monitor

any help would be gladly welcomed

cheers

An Abit IP35 mobo with an ATi 4850 would do you nicely, then pick a new CPU cooler that fits your budget. Then a Pioneer DVD drive and a SpinPoint HDD.

Also pick up some 1066mhz Kingston Ram which is good offer at the moment:

That's some good advice you've got there.
I'd like to add, if that is your real name then you must have amazing parents.

Also, you might like to think about getting two smaller HDD's in RAID 0 rather than one larger :)

why get a new cpu cooler whats wrong with the xigmatek i have ?

nothing at all, does it have the bolt thru kit with it ?

have a look at the Asus P5QL Pro Intel P43 motherboard, Kingston HyperX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C5 memory, samsung f1 320gb hard drive, Samsung TS-H653F 22x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter and XFX Radeon HD 4850 grpahics card.

hi mate, what sort of money are you looking at spending. What is the computer being used for - day to day, gaming, graphics editting?

Would you feel comfortable now or in the future overclocking?

He's already got the 300 and a be quiet PSU.

fail for me misread but wow ur uncle must be a really nice guy those parts are excellent and even better for free:D but you probs best of to get the abit IP35 if you do not plan to overclock and add an ATi card to it depending on what performance u require:

4670 - little gaming in high resolutions but still handles HD content
4850 - good gaming graphics in mid resolutions(upto 1650x1050)
4870 - High resolutions and the 4870x2 if you want the best:D

Um I can't make heads or tails of that above post. might just be reading it wrong.

Can you let us know a rough price to work with and I'm guessing you are planning to game. (sorry you said overclock, but didn't expand on any more of my questions)

hi guardsmon

the pc will be used for day to day and gaming

my budget is around £400 i need graphics card hard drive optical drive ram and motherboard

cheers

i'd go for something like the following, only included the 1gb 4870 as its on special offer, if you have a 22" screen or less then a 512mb version would do you fine if you buy after the offer is up.

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4870 1024MB GDDR5 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail (21133-04-20) £164.99 (£143.47)

Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3L Intel P45 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £98.89 (£85.99)

Samsung SpinPoint F1 320GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD322HJ) £40.24 (£34.99)

Kingston HyperX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C5 800MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX6400D2K2/4G) £32.98 (£28.68)

Samsung TS-H653F 22x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM £16.09 (£13.99)

Sub Total : £307.12
Shipping : £9.50
VAT : £47.49
Total : £364.11
