Noob question about SATA

My two 60gig IDE drives are getting full, games music photos etc, and my ASUS A7N8 Deluxe mother board has two spare SATA connections sat there doing nothing.

So my question is can I get a 120gb SATA drive, run windows and all the games that need performance from that, whilst leaving my old two drives where they are? If I can do this how would I have to go about setting it up?

Ithought about unpluging the IDE drives and then attaching the SATA one running the system installing windows etc, then setting both IDEs as slaves and reconnecting them. Would that work?

Yes, but you would need to make sure that the new drive was at the top of the HD boot order list otherwise it'll boot off your previous hard disk. You'll need SATA drivers as well when installing windows.

Simply plug in the SATA drive, give it boot priority in the BIOS, pop in the Windows CD (set it to boot from CD first as well) and install to the SATA drive.

It's that easy then? Cool, when you say SATA drivers will they be with windows?
