Hi all,

Still feeling very silly and people like me don't deserve high end cards...:p

I have got my card and installed all the drivers etc but when I do a system check it says the card is 1gig. Also when I did the 3d bench mark it also says 1gig on the card and it gets trounced by a 5870.

What am have I done wrong? My card is the XFX ATI 5970 2048 card.

As Games and appz will only see 1GB on that card....and your 3d bench mark most likely didn't support crossfire ;)

This quote is for SLI....But the same goes for crossfire ;)

Okay thanks m8 but why is it getting absolutely trounced on by a 5870?

My score 21865 for graphics and the 5870 49266?

Nearly double my score?

Also in the catalyst control panel it says core clock 725 mhz, memory 1000hz memory size 1024g? Surely this would show 2gig?

I just want to ensure my card is running at top spec (not over clocked).

Surely not even 2 5870s SLI would give such a large discrepency.

And I am not sure why catalyst would only show it as 1gig.

Is there nothing out there that can tell me that my card is a 2gig card besides the box cover :)

I think I get it now. When I check on the catalyst control center is says primary adapter 1gig and then says linked adapter also 1gig so there is my 2gig.

I was just annoyed that it seemed on my benchmark that someone with a 5870 (even sli) was getting an FPS rate of 139 when I am getting 64.

I will go try some other benchmarks and see the results.
