Noob question - So if you have stone henge like floor standing speakers, do you need a subwoofer?

Just seeen this. It may be useful with your monolith, if the monolith lacks sub sonic filter, and the svs matches the monolith port tune

Or if you but a antimode they have sub sonic filter bit unsure the choice of frequencies

The Monolith Plus drops off at below 20hz, so the output is significantly reduced anything under so the sub doesn't blow, BK confirmed there is something in place to avoid these frequencies from causing damage.

Yeah I'd make sure any premium ported sub I have for movie system has sub sonic filter my old Tel didn't and modern sound tracks caused it problems, my first sub svs pc plus 20-39 had one and ignoring the massive difference in spl between the two you could not cause it to have same issues as the rel with low frequencies.

Got a antimode with the SB ultra but that is disabled as is any eq settings or room adjustment, just have antimode

I could probably count on one hand the number of speaker pairs that I've heard that can go as low a good sub, i.e. down into the upper teens on Hz.
With Stonehenge as modelled by Lego, no chance.
As already stated, you're looking at multi-£k in costs. As an example, my speakers weigh 65kgs each, and STILL benefit from bass re-enforcement under 27hz.

For all that, my personal opinion is that you get the main speakers right and THEN add a decent sub that can work with them.
I see threads about people adding £600 subs to work with some real budget speakers and it just makes me smile. After all, the sub is only fleshing out the lowest octave (ish) and is mainly used by movies. Splashing the dosh to the rest of the frequency range right FIRST seems to be a far more sensible approach.
