noob question

Very new to overclocking as in never ever done it, put would now like to have a go with new system. I have read some threads & stickys on it including beginners guide, but still sounds complicated for a noob e. Is there a tool out there that does it for you, or a program you need only click a couple of buttons to do it all, safely of course. Sorry if this has been asked before. Thanks

No,

Clocking should be done in the bios.

It seems to me that you just want to be given the answers rather than doing what all peole do and thats read up on the subject,research and take the time to clock their systems.

If this is a chore for you.
Then overclcoking may not be for you

No, didn't want to be given the answers, but like anything that is new, you look for an easier way before trying something that can be daunting & possibly fry your system, thanks for the support.

I have
Intel e6600
Ram 1gig corsair pc6400
Samsung spin point 400gig HDD
Geoforce 6600gt graphics ( borrowed ) waiting to buy bfg 8800gt oc 2tm
650 power supply
dvd rewriter

Used to buy a comp & just run as bought, but have decided if i have spent the money, then want to get most out of system. so yep would like to get into overclocking, but looks daunting at first glance.

It is daunting at first glance, but if you read around and understand what it is you are trying to do then it's pretty straight forward.

There are settings in the BIOS that have only minute effects and for a first go you can just leave them alone.

The sticky guides on here are all well written, and they are as close as a step by step as you can get.

There are various software OC'ing utilities, but sticking to the BIOS is the way to go.

Have a look at the bios screens and work out what it what, don't be tempted to fiddle until you are sure. Take it safe and slow and not too much can go wrong...

Stay away from the volt changes for the moment.

You can get Windows based overclocking programs.

Mobo is a abit ab9
PSU is a coolermaster spec offer with case
Have printed of the beginners guide to Oc will study this an have a go.
