Noob ram speed question

Right, I understand quite a bit about computers, but the one thing I can't get my head around is ram speed when overclocking.
At the moment I have overclocked my E6600 to 2.9Ghz, with my ram at 800 (unlinked). Is this ok, or should I be overclocking my ram as well?
As I understand it, my cpu is now at about 322Mhz X 9, so my ram only needs to be twice this as DDR ram runs at double this figure. Correct?

Or, does my ram need to match the cpu's fsb?

As I understand it, my DDR2 800 ram will be fine at stock until my cpu overclock passes 400Mhz.

Please, can someone clarify this for me, in laymans terms!

If your RAM is running sync 1:1 with FSB then it should be running DDR2 644, and thus your RAM will allow FSB to run upto 400Mhz without pushing the RAM. But since nvidia chipset allows RAM to run unlinked with FSB it doens't really matter.

Thanks, thought I was right, just not sure. Ram doesn't need to be touched then unless the cpu goes over a 400 fsb.

Right?

(Sorry if I sound thick, just want to find out :) )
