Noob to Linux! (but would like to try!)

As in title im am a complete noob to linux but i like change so i fancied giving it a go on my laptop! Which OS would you recommend i try? I know of Ubuntu and Linux Mint any other suggestions?

And also any decent websites explaing how to set up things, wireless networks, install programs etc.

Yeah looks like it just been reading through the documentation.

Will i have any probs with drivers for wifi or webam etc?
 
Depends on your wifi chipset more than anything. Give Linux Mint a try as you can still use the Ubuntu forums for help and it has a few more extras that make it a little easier out of the box.
 
Mint is basically Ubuntu, but with a bit more eye candy, excellent noobie choice, I know it's what I'm running..lol after 6 months of ubuntu, I love Mint
