it can be down to vdroop,or taking readings from different voltage points
can try reducing dvid further?
90°C is not that much but it is quite a lot for 1.27V and 4.2GHz, I would check the contact between the IHS and the cooler base. Also what is the speed of the fan/s tha blow the Matterhorn? I recommend using RealTemp to watch the temperature and as wazza300 said, lower the voltage quite a lot more.welllllll
i started a prime 95 but stopped it as temps got a bit scary
I prefer having the CPU idling at low clock speeds so am using the turboboost to overclock which so far has been a walk in the path, all I have done is change the settings from 3.8 to 4.2GHz. Voltage is set to auto and only rises up to 1.088 when the turboboost kicks in![]()
that's cos you need to say the magic word and do the gigabyte dance

then set cpu voltage to "normal" in cpu voltage list, this unlocks dynamic vcore (dvid) then you can enter whats needed usually +0.015v and medium llc but depens on the level of oc
then the cpu will downclock at idle/full speed at load
EDIT: for a 4.2ghz oc then id set cpu v to normal, and use a negative dvid -0.010v and low llc
Im unsure how to put a negative seems I can only put a positive
Ill have another play tonight but ive been playing assassins creed perfect and the max seems to be 63-68
