noob to ssd question - how easy is cloning?

Basically I've ordered an ssd finally and want to clone everything on my HDD to the new SSD.

I know how to do it roughly but once its done, what do I have to do to optimize windows 7 for the new SSD. Do things like defragging automatically detect that I now use an ssd or do I have to change everything..
And if so, what things do I need to change?

Got the crucial mx100 coming.. I think it comes with acronis so we shall have to see but I should be alright then if some softwares optimize... Thanks pal

Hadn't even considered just using windows backup.. Might try that if the first option fails!
