Yeah, no worries.
A very easy overclock, just increase the blck speed to 200 for a 4ghz CPU. No need to go up a little at a time etc.
Hybrid, I've always found it's best to start at say 1.3v vCore for 4GHz, and if that's stable then start lowering vCore by 1 increment and test for stability.
Good point Helios, this is the CPU used in the review;
Intel Core i7 920 (45 nm, 2.66 GHz, 4x 256 KB L2 and 8 MB L3 Cache, TDP 130 W, Rev. C0)
I guess that's why the auto setting took me to 1.416v rather than the 1.5v in the toms hardware guide, (I have a D0 and a P6t deluxe mobo). Temps are around 60C at idle with a very low speed fan setting on a fenrir cooler.
60 at idle. That's insane. Auto setting will always take the voltage to around 1.4ish volts. I'd lower that if I were you. As mentioned by other people, use 1.3v and work from that.
whats a normal idle temp to be looking at?
