Hi All,

I've never overclocked before but decided I might aswell have a go so I'm looking for some advice.

Heres the kit list.

Silverstone TJ09 - Will have full complement of 120mm fans.
Enermax Galaxy 1Kw PSU
Intel Bad Axe 2 Mobo
QX6700 CPU
Team Xtreem 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C3 800MHz Dual Channel Kit
Tuniq Cooler
BFG 8800GTX OC2
2 x 74gb Raptors (raid)
1 x 500gb Seagate

Am I best to get the system up and running and stock 1st and let it bed in before overclocking?

Whats the best way to try to gain some extra speed? Multiplier 1st, FSB or a combo. Do I need to change voltages etc.

I'm not worried about bumping the CPU cooler up to full whack and also running the fans on max (I wear headphones so not fussed).

Cheers All

Get the system set-up at stock and benchmark it. Not only will this give you a strong baseline from which you can see the benefit of your overclocking, it will confirm that all parts of your system are working correctly (i.e. nothing needs to be RMA'd).

I believe a combination of an increase in multiplier and an increase in FSB will give you the biggest benefit. To maximise the overclock you will indeed need to increase voltage.

As with everything in life.. work slowly and carefully. You have an expensive bit of kit so don't play any risky games. Don't increase voltages until you need to and test the overclock using Orthos or similar.
