can we use DDR2 memory on DDR3 boards?

No, it has a different pin layout, but P35 bords can use DDR2&DDR3 you nead to have the correct memory slot on them

edit: if you look at the picture of the product you can see the different notch location in the green slots, that's for the DDR3
