Noobish Question

I'm gonna get two WD Caviar Blacks, 1 500gb and 1 1TB, whats the best way to store data over these for the best performance, ive read up on raid 0 etc and i think the risk is not worth the reward, so im just gonna keep the drives separate (no raid) but im just wondering whats the best way to store my files over the two,

OS on 500gb
Games, programs and my music etc on other

or

OS plus games on the 500gb
Programs and music etc on the 1TB

There is probably a ridiculously easy answer staring in my face but i just want to be sure,

It really makes very little difference, cheaper to get a single 1.5TB drive tho.
Unless you do tasks which involves a lot of big file conversions (winrar, video coding etc..) then you can see a huge benefit with 2 drives (encode from one to the other), but for games you won't see any significant difference however you decide to setup.

I would have music and games on the 1tb and programs and OS on 500gb
